Which size should I choose?
The most requested size for a classic flag is 100x150cm — 100 cm high, 150 cm wide — and each product page opens on the size most customers choose. As a rule of thumb the flag's height is about a quarter of the pole. In proportion 2:3 the sizes go from 20x30cm to 600x900cm.
Sizes are always written height x width: 100x150cm is 100 cm high and 150 cm wide; a vertical flag of 300x100cm is 300 cm high and 100 cm wide.
Under Dimensione on the product page you find every size available for the proportion you chose. If you are replacing a flag you already have, measure it and pick the same size. If you are not sure, start from where the flag will go.
Size for the pole
These are the sizes customary in Italy and the Netherlands — the flag's height about a quarter of the pole. German, British and American customers are used to one size smaller on the same pole.
- Wall or balcony stick up to 1.5 m (the stick's own length) — 70x100cm.
- Wall stick of 2 m, indoor stand — 100x150cm.
- Pole of 4–5 m — 100x150cm or 120x180cm.
- Pole of 6 m — 150x225cm.
- Pole of 7–8 m — 200x300cm.
- Pole of 9–10 m — 225x350cm.
- Pole of 12 m and up — 300x450cm.
- Vertical flag on a banner bar — up to half the pole's height.
- Boat, national flag at the stern — about 8 cm of length per metre of boat: 40x60cm for an 8 m boat, 70x100cm for 12 m. The courtesy flag about half of that.
Outdoors, think of the distance the flag must be read from: beside a road, the biggest you can; at a crowded event, tall enough to stand above people's heads; to mark a corner in a shop, a small one is enough. Indoors, mind the ceiling.
